Another fast-growing career field is medical billing.  This is an excellent work-at-home option and a profession that is expected to grow substantially in the coming years.   Entrepreneur Magazine has cited medical billing as a "best business" since the first edition of the book "The Best Home Businesses for the '90s."

The average starting hourly rate is between $8-$10 an hour, with increasing levels of $30-$40 an hour as you gain experience and responsibility.
